Contest Rules

The 2020 Sunset Pet of the Year contest is open to dog and cat owners residing in local zip codes. The entry and voting period for this year's contest will begin on Monday, November 15, 2019 and end on Tuesday, December 31st, 2019 at 11PM. Winners will be determined by which photos have received the most likes and reactions when the voting period ends. Only likes and reactions to photos on Sunset's Facebook page will be counted.

Participants must submit a photo of their cat or dog and fill out all required fields on the entry form on our Facebook page. Only one entry per family will be accepted. Multiple pets in one photo is acceptable. We will accept photos in jpg, tif, png, bmp or gif format no larger than 10 megabytes.

All copyrighted photographs must have the express written permission from their original owners in order to be reproduced at Sunset Animal Hospital. The electronic submission of your images expressly implies that all copyright permissions have been obtained and granted constituting permission for Sunset Animal Hospital to have full permission for reprinting. Accordingly, you shall indemnify, defend and hold Sunset Animal Hospital harmless from any suit, demand, claim or liability arising from any and all copyright infringements. By submitting your participant forms you will receive marketing emails from Sunset Animal Hospital. You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time.

By accepting and/or using the prize, winner consents to the use of his/her name, voice and/or likeness for the purpose of advertising, trade or promotion without further compensation unless prohibited by law and upon request will provide such consent in writing. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by or associated with Facebook. By entering this sweepstakes, you agree to a complete release of Facebook. You understand that you are providing your information to Sunset Animal Hospital and not to Facebook.

We will NEVER sell your name, e-mail address or other personal information to any third party. Only authorized employees of Sunset Animal Hospital may access your information. All employees are required to adhere to our strict privacy policies, and any employee who violates the privacy policy is subject to termination and other disciplinary measures up to being criminally prosecuted for their violation.

Prizes

1st Prize: $500 Service Credit to Sunset Animal Hospital and Title of Sunset Animal Hospital's Pet of the Year
2nd Prize: $250 Service Credit to Sunset Animal Hospital
3rd Prize: $100 Service Credit to Sunset Animal Hospital

Announcement and instructions for prize will be sent to the e-mail address supplied on the potential prizewinner’s entry form. Each entrant is responsible for monitoring his/her e-mail account for prize notification and receipt or other communications related to this contest. If a potential prizewinner cannot be reached by Sunset Animal Hospital within fifteen (15) days, using the contact information provided at the time of entry, or if the prize is returned as undeliverable, that potential prize winner shall forfeit the prize. Upon the request of Sunset Animal Hospital, the potential winner may be required to return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release and Prize Acceptance Form and IRS W-9 form. If a potential winner fails to comply with these official rules, that potential winner will be disqualified. Prizes may not be awarded if an insufficient number of eligible entries are received.

Children's Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance: We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) by not collecting any information from anyone under 13 years of age. In order to enter, it is required that users are 18 years old and above. Our website, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 18 years old or older.
